How it works
No mystery, no funnel, no discovery call that is secretly a sales call.
1. The free call
About 15 to 20 minutes, on the phone. You tell me roughly what is going on. I am listening for two things: the rough edges of the actual problem, which is usually not the one people lead with, and whether I am the right person for it.
This call is genuinely free and it is genuinely not a pitch. If what you need is a licensed professional, or a lawyer, or a doctor, or a support group, I will say so and I will tell you what to look for. That happens, and it is a good outcome.
If we are a fit, I will walk you through a simple frame at the end of the call: what you want, what is actually true right now, what your options look like, and what you are willing to do. That is the standard coaching frame, it is called GROW, and it is not mine. I use it because it works and because it gives you something to take away from a free call.
2. Booking
I send you a payment link on the call. Placeholder: payment surface not yet live. Sessions are $125 for an hour or $75 for a half hour. I take one session per day, which is deliberate. This work does not go well when it is stacked.
3. The sessions
Phone or video, whichever you actually relax in. Most people start weekly. Some people come once a month for a long time. Some people come for six weeks and then do not need me, which is the best outcome there is.
There is no script. There is usually a practice or two I will hand you between sessions, and those are real, small, and specific. You can read them here before you ever book.
4. Between sessions
You can reach me between sessions. I want to be straight about how that works rather than promising something vague and then quietly resenting it. We will agree at the start on what between-session contact looks like and roughly when you can expect an answer. Placeholder: response window to be finalised.
What I will not do is disappear for a week without telling you, and what I will not do is pretend I am available at three in the morning if I am not.
5. The email after every session
After each session you get a short email. It asks what helped, what did not land, what you want more of, and what I could do better for the way you specifically learn and understand things. It has the link to book your next session in it.
The reason this exists is that people are polite. They will not tell you in the moment that something did not work. In writing, a day later, they will, and that is how I get better at working with you specifically instead of working with people in general.
What a first session usually looks like
| Roughly | What is happening |
|---|---|
| First ten minutes | You talk. I mostly do not. People arrive with a version of the story they have told before, and it is worth hearing that version first. |
| The middle | Questions. Usually about when something started, what was going on around it, and what you were feeling in your body when it did. This is where the pattern starts showing up. |
| Near the end | We name one thing. Not a plan for your life. One thing that is true, that you can hold, and that we can check next time. |
| After | Sometimes a practice to run between now and next time. Sometimes nothing, because sometimes the work is to leave it alone for a week. |
If you are in crisis
Coaching is not the right tool for a crisis and I will not pretend otherwise. If you are thinking about harming yourself or someone else, call or text 988 in the US for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or call 911. If you are in immediate danger from another person, get to safety first. I will still be here afterwards.
Not sure if this is for you?
The first call is free, it runs about 15 to 20 minutes, and its only job is to work out whether I am the right person. If I am not, I will say so and point you somewhere better.
